In Loving Memory of
Eleanor May MacDonald
1942 – 2026
Eleanor May (Wilson) MacDonald of Napan, New Brunswick, wife of Terry MacDonald, passed away suddenly at her home on February 10, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born on July 9, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Enoch and Edna (Leparde) Wilson.
Eleanor found her greatest happiness in her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo, darts, and cards, and she especially loved having her family gathered around her. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she always made it special. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or important milestone. She was known for her baking and could often be heard humming as she worked around the house.
She is survived by her husband, Terry of 59 years; her daughter, Annette Power of Napan, New Brunswick; her sons, Stephen Wilson of Napan, New Brunswick, Roger MacDonald (Nicole) of Miramichi, New Brunswick, and Cory MacDonald (Patty) of Point aux Carr, New Brunswick; her daughter-in-law, Tiffany MacLaughlin of Napan; her sisters, Kay Yvonne and Shirley Dickson, both of Miramichi; her grandchildren: Andrew, Cody, Jade, Jared, Teri Lee, Jocelyn, Ben, Bailey, Rhiannon, and Julian; and her great-grandchildren, Lydia, Caleb, Ruby, Griffin, and Fox.
She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Keith MacDonald; her grandson, Adam Power; her sisters, Joanie, Helen, and Louella; and her brothers, Carl and Lloyd.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service was held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Charlene Maguire MacKnight as officiant. Music for the service was recorded music. The processional song was "Go Rest High on the Mountain" by Vince Gill, followed by "He Stopped Loving Her Today", by George Jones, with "Amazing Grace" by Alan Jackson as the recessional. Memory candles were lit by grandchildren, Andrew and Cody. The eulogy was presented by granddaughter, Rhiannon. Interment will occur in Black River Community Cemetery, New Brunswick at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Black River Community Cemetery, or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
